Steps to a Fair Disciplinary Procedure
The overriding principle behind any disciplinary procedure is to make sure that you act fairly and reasonably. As the name suggests, 'unfair' dismissal is when you fail to do this.
So what steps are there in making sure a disciplinary procedure is fair, and why is there this principle of fairness?
If you were dismissed or disciplined for something and the company had not bothered to look into all the facts and did not give you a chance to state your case, would you think this was fair? Probably not!
